As a holistic and sustainable wedding and event planner, I am always looking for ways for the events industry to lessen its impact on the planet. There are so many ways to do so, without compromising quality, and I love the creativity that moving away from tradition enables! Whether it's a logistical decision that minimizes unnecessary driving or an aesthetic one - such as focusing on greenery rather than florals, I love working with couples and vendors to lighten the load on our planet. 

I understand, from personal experience, the pain that can result from marriages that don't come from being on the same page about goals, expression, and growth. And after years of being unsure how to support others in that experience, I have now completed my marriage mentorship training and am committed to ensuring that every couple is supported from the moment we begin working together, through the event itself, and into the experience of marriage. While some assume that eco-friendly weddings mean drinking out of mason jar glasses with burlap and lace accents, other minds picture wearing vintage or repurposed wedding dresses. As far as we are concerned, while these are both options, there are also luxurious or understated ideas to integrate that can shift a wedding to be more environmentally responsible!

We trend toward eco-luxury, and many couples we work with appreciate that the aspects that lighten our impact on the planet can be as simple as holding the ceremony and the reception in the same place to minimize decoration use and transportation. Other ideas include holding the event outdoors or using candles to minimize electricity use, focusing on greenery rather than blooming flowers, limiting plastic use, and donating the extra food to a church or charity. We don’t believe that integrating sustainable practices needs to be obvious - sending out save the dates via email is one example, and we love working with our couples to create beautiful ways to lessen the impact of their event. Often, your guests won't even notice the subtle ways we weave sustainability in. They will simply be having an amazing time at a beautiful, fun and loving wedding.

As a trained travel professional, I am thrilled to offer destination wedding planning and eco-tourism services. Although I specialize in Jamaican travel and tourism, I am able to plan events throughout the Caribbean, Europe, and across the globe. When I work with couples to plan their destination wedding, I begin just like a regular wedding - with a consultation. As we get to know each other, we discuss locations and timelines, and I begin an extensive research process. We discuss everything from the flexibility and privacy of offsite, rather than a resort wedding, to the challenges of securing group transportation abroad. I love to travel and have planned my own destination wedding, and so I take the opportunity to help couples plan their destination wedding very seriously.
